Conceived with the aim of rewarding and promoting the unique savoir faire of Burgundy’s wine producers, the Tastevinage is a guide for all those, newcomers as much as seasoned connoisseurs, who like to enjoy and share the pleasures of Burgundy wine. The TASTEVINAGE MAJOR is another step in the Confrérie’s on-going pursuit of that founding aim – a pursuit now more than sixty years old.

Now an integral part of the Hospices de Beaune wine auction calendar, the award ceremony will be held in the Great Cistercian Cellar of the Château du Clos de Vougeot: an evening of sharing and discovery in the form of a winetasting where each laureate will have the opportunity to present their wine formally.

This year, twenty burgundies were singled out as the jury’s favourites from among the 1,215 tasteviné wines of the 103rd and 104th TASTEVINAGE sessions. The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin will confer the title of MAJOR du TASTEVINAGE on each laureate, who will also receive a trophy specially created for the event by the Burgundy-based viti-sculptor Michel Faget.

The third edition of the MAJORS AWARDS CEREMONY will take place on thursday,  november 14th, 2019 at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
